Technical Update

CPanel Web-based Email Update

We are currently upgrading our IMAP services on CPanel.  Please be aware you may experience intermittent connection issues.

web.net SMTP Service

Due to the recent changes made by some ISPs preventing you from using your web.net email address in the "reply-to" field, we've setup an authenticated SMTP (outgoing mail) service for you to use.

In your mail client you may use mail.web.net as the SMTP server address. You will need to specify port 1025 as most ISPs often block the default outgoing port (port 25).

Authentication is required; use your web.net username (not your full email address) and password. For example: If your email address is support@web.net - you would use "support" as your username.

SSL/TLS is available as well to ensure a secure connection.

Current Status

We have been working on upgrading our shared hosting environment in order to ensure the continued reliability of our systems.

As a result some of our users have been experiencing problems trying to FTP to the server.

If you are receiving an authentication failure message when trying to connect, we would ask that you append "@yourdomain.com" to the end of your username and try again.

Our website, e-mail, mailing lists and petition service are all 100% functional.
